What is Telehealth therapy?
Telehealth refers to the use of video conferencing for the purpose of providing healthcare services. This method of providing therapy has been around for many years and has been increasing in popularity in the recent past. Telehealth allows clients to be seen outside of the office, allowing increased access to therapy and health services for those who are not able get into an office or perhaps have other time or access constraints that would otherwise prevent them from being able to see a clinician.
Telehealth for social distancing
Nobody realized when we rang in the new year to 2020 that within a couple months most of our health services, schooling, and socialization was going to become virtual. Telehealth or virtual therapy has now become more popular than ever and offers a safe, socially distant way to get therapy. The drastic change in our world has cause many new stressors, as well as, exacerbated many old ones. Seeking therapy and increasing access to support is more important than ever. Telehealth allows this to happen in a safe and meaningful way.
